Peace ~ Sept. 30. 2011

I was reading through my blogs this morning; I use a firefox add-on called Live Bookmarks to keep up with them.  I'm not sure exactly how many I follow, but if I miss a couple of days overwhelm can set in.  Anyway, I had finally gotten all caught up and there was one post I decided not to read; went to click "Mark feed as read" and clicked on "Mark the whole list as read" instead. Sooooo maybe I didn't really want to read those posts after all. At first I wasn't to happy about it.  Now I'm at peace with it.  There must have been a reason why I wasn't supposed to read those posts.

Quotes

Life is a celebration and if we attune ourselves spiritually we can experience meaningful transformation. The peace within you is a blessing to be shared. Step joyfully into the future and know that as you embrace your magnificence you raise the consciousness of humanity. Love your divinity and let every moment of every day be a mystical experience  that takes your soul to the next level. ~ Micheal Teal

Gratitude ~ Sept. 29, 2011

It looks like I posted gratitude quotes exactly a month ago.  I think it is time for some more.  Yesterday we received a rather negative response to one of our posts. We chose to delete it.  This page was started because I personally was fed up with all the negativity coming up in my personal feed and all the negativity from the outside world. I felt it was time for me to put out something positive out into the world.

I haven't always been a glass half full sort of gal. In fact, there are some days when it is very difficult for me to maintain even the slightest positive attitude. Those are the days when I most need the things I post. The days I most need to search for things that are uplifting or inspiring. Hopefully, then one negative attitude doesn't spiral into a lifetime of negative attitudes.

Gratitude is a great way to turn a negative into a positive.  Remembering all that we have that is good in our life makes it hard to stay in a negative frame of mind.  I have good days and bad days, as we all do. There are days when things don't go my way.  Through it all though, I am grateful. I am grateful for all the gifts that surround me. And no matter how bad things get, I can always find something to be grateful for.

Quotes

Gratitude is one of the sweet shortcuts to finding peace of mind and happiness inside. No matter what's going on outside of us, there's always something we could be grateful for. ~ Barry Neil Kaufman

Develop an attitude of gratitude, and give thanks for everything that happens to you, knowing that every step forward is a step toward achieving something bigger and better than your current situation. ~ Brian Tracy

God help us to be grateful for our blessings, never to be guilty of the sin of ingratitude, and to instill this same gratitude into the lives of our children. Someone has said that an ungrateful man is like a hog under a tree eating apples and never looking up to see where they come from. ~ Ezra Taft Benson

I remember hearing in a talk that the more we express our gratitude to God for our blessings, the more he will bring to our mind other blessings. The more we are aware of to be grateful for, the happier we become. ~ Ezra Taft Benson

Stuff ~ Sept. 26, 2011

Not much of a post today.  Quotes weren't yelling at me to "pick them this morning.  Blog Posts . . . if you knew how many I subscribe to, you'd understand why I just can' t seem to get through them today.

Plus I'm Really Excited!  We get to go see my daughter at college tomorrow.  We dropped her off a little over a week ago; and miss her tons.  So we get to go for a visit. And to take up some items that were left behind just in case there wasn't room for them.  She has class most of the day but from early afternoon until sometime in the evening we get to visit.  Maybe have dinner or something.

Dropping your kiddo off at school is tough.  The transition from having a child in your home to it being just you and the hubby is rough.  As my sister said we are all trying to find our places in the world again.

So no post tomorrow . . . and no apologies for such a short post today. I hope that you all have a great day tomorrow.  Find one thing to be positive about and post it on our facebook page or leave a comment here.

Heart ~ Sept. 25, 2011

Well now . . . went to publish yesterday's post and it wouldn't save for some reason.  So I refreshed the page thinking that would fix whatever was going on.  Boy was I wrong . . . the post must not have saved at all yesterday. Because now I am left with a blank page.

It is a new day, so I guess it is time for a new post. Apparently yesterday's post was not to be.

Wisdom ~ Sept. 22, 2011

I know I picked wisdom for my topic today; but change is what I really want to talk about.
I tend to resist change; I like my routines and the comfort of things being they way I expect them to be. While I admit that change is inevitable and we are changing daily, that isn't always easy for me.  So the recent changes to Facebook have caused changes to my usual routine. I don't like that.

The control freak in me though is really enjoying some of these changes.  I can now pick and choose what posts I want to be my top stories. I can pick what posts I want to see from my friends.  And most especially I can pick which posts I don't want in my feed at all.  It may take a little time to go through all of my friends and individually choose which types of post I want to subscribe to, but it is certainly better than some computer program deciding what I might be interested in.

I mean really, did that program think I didn't want to see the posts of my husband or daughter?  Did it really think that posts related to farmville, hatchlings, adventure world or mafia wars was more important than them?  Seriously?  I'm making the best of these changes; how about you?  What are you doing to make the new Facebook fee work for you?

Courageous in action,
Gentle of heart,

Let me act in wisdom,

And face each day with hope and joy.

Just the quotes today . . . been trying to get caught up on blog posts; but when you take a couple days away from them they tend to build up.

Transformation ~ Sept. 17, 2011

Wow . . . dropping my amazing daughter at college yesterday was one of the hardest things I've ever done. I wanted so badly to spend a couple of days up there with her.  We were all in tears before we even left the house yesterday.  It reminded me of when she was little and I would drop her off at day care.  Especially those days when she really didn't feel like going.

When she called this morning . . . homesick and crying; well I bet you can guess that we had another tough situation.  As the day went on she started feeling better about being there and settling in a little more.  But then we get home from a day at the shop, cooking dinner for 2 and staring in to her empty room . . .

So transformation was a good topic today . . . because we change daily, our kids grow up more every day and there is nothing that we can do about it.  There is no pause button on life; and even if there was our kids need to grow up and learn to live their own lives.  Even though it feels a bit like a part of me is missing.  I know this is an important transition for her and us; but knowing that doesn't make it easier.  I wish I had some advice or tips on making it easier, but right now my emotions are on the surface and it is hard to look deeper.

Quotes

The distance isn't important; it is only the first step that is difficult. ~ Marquise Deffand

Take an hour every day at dawn and give it to your Self. Meet your Self there, in the holy moment. Then go about your day. You will be a different person. ~ Neale Donald Walsch

Once upon a time, I dreamt I was a butterfly...

"The caterpillar trusts his maker that all is well. He does not cling to his old garment and thus is transformed into a magnificent butterfly. There is no pain, it is a natural transmutation. Spirit ~ Sept. 15, 2011

No post for tomorrow . . . driving my daughter to college.  Excited for her, but still kind of sad. This summer seemed to go by so quickly.

Quotes

There is a bridge to the sky within your soul and a doorway to healing and peace within your heart. If we look inside and embrace our true essence we bless the source of life. See beyond your vision and you will find a garden of harmony and joy where every breath is a source of inspiration. If we dream new realities we will open ourselves to abundant blessings. Together we can create miracles! ~ Micheal Teal

~ I can't seem to help myself . . . I am really connecting with and feeling his quotes lately.

The true beauty of the inner self is its spirit nurturing truth which breathes joy and happiness into our very soul. By living life in harmony and balance we awaken our inner universe and cultivate infinite love for all beings. The essence of being alive is to live an inspired life of higher self discovery that opens doorways to richness of spirit and inspires us to embrace the earth as a sacred womb of love. ~ Micheal Teal

~ Really, I can't resist.

We are more than just physical beings, we are whispers of love dancing in the breeze. We are spiritual beings on a path of loving service, where if we pay attention the sacred earth wisdom within will direct our destinies to a place of peace where joy and love abound. Embrace how beautiful you are and you make your life a garden of grace and beauty. We are love and love is the light within that guides our way. ~ Micheal Teal

~ So why should I?

Reflection ~ Sept. 13 &14, 2011

Yesterday was my birthday . . . I've never been the biggest fan of them. I don't want to have a party; I don' want you to tell the waiter/waitress at the restaurant; and please don't throw me a surprise party. Yesterday was the perfect day.  Went and caught up with some work at the shop, closed early to get my birthday present. I got a tattoo; I'll post a picture a bit later. Had pizza for dinner with my family and just enjoyed the day.

Quotes

The Quality of Love or Fear you Carry into each Moment determines which Road you Travel. ~ Barbara Marciniak

It's important to be heroic, ambitious, productive, efficient, creative, and progressive, but these qualities don't necessarily nurture the soul. The soul has different concerns, of equal value: downtime for reflection, conversation, and reverie; beauty that is captivating and pleasuring; relatedness to the environs and to people; and any animal's rhythm of rest and activity. ~ Thomas Moore

Silence is the great teacher, and to learn its lessons you must pay attention to it. There is no substitute for the creative inspiration, knowledge, and stability that come from knowing how to contact your core of inner silence. The great Sufi poet Rumi wrote, ''Only let the moving waters calm down, and the sun and moon will be reflected on the surface of your being. ~ Deepak Chopra

~ Two quotes in one . . . how awesome is that?

The world is a looking-glass, and gives back to every man the reflection of his own face. Frown at it, and it in turn will look sourly at you; laugh at it, and with it, and it is a jolly, kind companion.~ William Thackeray

I love the man that can smile in trouble, that can gather strength from distress, and grow brave by reflection. 'Tis the business of little minds to shrink, but he whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves his conduct, will pursue his principles unto death. ~ Thomas Paine

Patience ~ Sept. 12, 2011

I'm sure I've mentioned it before, but I am not a very patient person. It is something that I am working on though.  Still some days it is tough to be patient at a stop sign (we don't have stop lights in my city), or while waiting in line at the grocery store. But I try to remind myself that most of the time I don't have to be anywhere at a particular time, I'm not in a rush so why can't I wait a nanosecond for the car in front of me?  Some days it it easier than others. What helps you maintain patience when you want to be impatient?

Oneness ~ Sept. 11, 2011

I had a great day today. I went out and spent some time on the beach flying a kite with a friend. It has been a while since I really flew a kite. Now ~ Sept. 10, 2011

Quotes

Focus your attention on the Now and tell me what problem you have at this moment. ~ Eckhart Tolle

~ I hope that you will take a moment and try this exercise. A true test of whether you are living in the now or not.

Because I don't live in either my past or my future. I'm interested only in the present. If you can concentrate always on the present, you'll be a happy man... Life will be a party for you, a grand festival, because life is the moment we're living right now. ~ Paulo Coelho

~ I know this isn't always easy to do. But when you live in the present how can life not be a "party for you, a grand festival"?

There are not kinds of love, love is love; there are only degrees of love. Love is trusting, accepting and believing, without guarantee. Love is patient and waits, but it's an active waiting, not a passive one. For it is continually offering itself in a mutual revealing, a mutual sharing, Love is spontaneous and craves expression through joy, through beauty, through truth, even through tears. Love lives in the moment; it's neither lost in yesterday nor does it crave for tomorrow. Love is Now! ~ Leo F. Buscaglia

Living ~ Sept. 7, 2011

A couple of days late and a bit short . . . here is the post that was intended for the 7th.  Have been pretty busy with the shop the last few days. Thinking about writing about it and showing you all pictures of what it looks like.

Quotes

Your life is supposed to feel good to you. ~ Abraham Hicks

My soul is a sanctuary of enlightenment where the enhancing flow of positive energy communicates a peaceful message of love. Beauty and joy embraces my spirit as I savor and celebrate the glory of all living things. I have found empowerment through spirituality and it is my desire to use that power to radiate goodness and contribute wisdom, wellness and bliss to all humankind. ~ Micheal Teal
Never again clutter your days or nights with so many menial and unimportant things that you have no time to accept a real challenge when it comes along. This applies to play as well as work. Karma ~ Sept. 5, 2011

I have been sitting here procrastinating about this post. Reading through the blogs I like . . . well okay, more like skimming and then moving on to the next.  Moving on without really reading or digesting, thinking I'll post this one later  . . . Well what is wrong with now?  Why not really read the blog post and then either share it or move on?  Not sure the reason for the hold up, I guess I just didn't feel like it right then.  But then I got to thinking that I have plans tomorrow. Plans that are going to make it a pretty long day; leaving no time for blog reading or quote posting.  I hope that you all have a GREAT day tomorrow.
