Reflection ~ Sept. 13 &14, 2011

Yesterday was my birthday . . . I've never been the biggest fan of them. I don't want to have a party; I don' want you to tell the waiter/waitress at the restaurant; and please don't throw me a surprise party. Yesterday was the perfect day.  Went and caught up with some work at the shop, closed early to get my birthday present. I got a tattoo; I'll post a picture a bit later. Had pizza for dinner with my family and just enjoyed the day.

Quotes

The Quality of Love or Fear you Carry into each Moment determines which Road you Travel. ~ Barbara Marciniak

It's important to be heroic, ambitious, productive, efficient, creative, and progressive, but these qualities don't necessarily nurture the soul. The soul has different concerns, of equal value: downtime for reflection, conversation, and reverie; beauty that is captivating and pleasuring; relatedness to the environs and to people; and any animal's rhythm of rest and activity. ~ Thomas Moore

Silence is the great teacher, and to learn its lessons you must pay attention to it. There is no substitute for the creative inspiration, knowledge, and stability that come from knowing how to contact your core of inner silence. The great Sufi poet Rumi wrote, ''Only let the moving waters calm down, and the sun and moon will be reflected on the surface of your being. ~ Deepak Chopra

~ Two quotes in one . . . how awesome is that?

The world is a looking-glass, and gives back to every man the reflection of his own face. Frown at it, and it in turn will look sourly at you; laugh at it, and with it, and it is a jolly, kind companion.~ William Thackeray

I love the man that can smile in trouble, that can gather strength from distress, and grow brave by reflection. 'Tis the business of little minds to shrink, but he whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves his conduct, will pursue his principles unto death. ~ Thomas Paine

Quotes

You cannot always control what goes on outside. But you can always control what goes on inside. ~ Wayne Dyer

If you want to reach a state of bliss, then go beyond your ego and the internal dialogue. Make a decision to relinquish the need to control, the need to be approved, and the need to judge. Those are the three things the ego is doing all the time. It's very important to be aware of them every time they come up. ~ Deepak Chopra

The control center of your life is your attitude. ~ unknown

In dwelling, live close to the ground. In thinking, keep to the simple. In conflict, be fair and generous. In governing, don't try to control. In work, do what you enjoy. In family life, be completely present. ~ Tao Te Ching

Quotes

We have stopped for a moment to encounter each other, to meet, to love, to share.  This is a precious moment, but it is transient.  It is a little parenthesis in eternity.  If we share with caring, lightheartedness and love, we will create abundance and joy for each other.  And then this moment will have been worthwhile. ~ Deepak Chopra

Nobody else knows your reason for being. You do. Your bliss guides you to it. When you follow your bliss, when you follow your path to joy, your conversation is of joy, your feelings are of joy -- you're right on the path of that which you intended when you came forth into this physical body. ~ Abraham Hicks

Joy is a net of love by which you can catch souls. ~ Mother Teresa

Think excitement, talk excitement, act out excitement, and you are bound to become an excited person. Life will take on a new zest, deeper interest and greater meaning. You can think, talk and act yourself into dullness or into monotony or into unhappiness. By the same process you can build up inspiration, excitement and surging depth of joy. ~ Norman Vincent Peale

Even when deep down, we know that it isn't.  Here is to the beginning of better days strung together into a good week.  Hope that yours is too!

Then you can enjoy a lifelong love affair that brings you the richest fulfillment from inside out. ~ Alan Cohen
To love means to open ourselves to the negative as well as the positive - to grief, sorrow, and disappointment as well as to joy, fulfillment, and an intensity of consciousness we did not know was possible before. ~ Rollo May
